You’ve just purchased a new slush machine, congratulations! Now you’re looking for instructions on how to use it.

You’re probably desperate to get right down to fun part (creating a deliciously tasty slush), so we’ll jump straight to it. Here’s your all-encompassing guide on how to use your new slush machine.
Familiarise Yourself First
Firstly, we strongly advise that you check your user manual and provided instructions, reading everything thoroughly before you start any slush making.
Your slush machine may have a variety of buttons and switches you must familiarise yourself with. This is called a ‘control panel’. Your control panel will vary depending on how many bowls your machine has.
Typically, a machine will have a main power switch, a light switch, a main freeze switch, gear motor switches, and individual bowl freeze switches. It’s important to familiarise yourself with these switches and try them out. By doing so, you can get a feel for your machine and its capabilities, learning which switch does what and so on. However, be mindful that you should add liquid to your bowls whilst testing it out, this helps prevent damage.
Once you’ve gotten used to your machine it’s time to create some slush!
It’s important to get your syrup to water ratio right in order to create a tasty slush and keep your machine working properly. We recommend a 6:1 ratio for the perfect mix.
There are a number of issues that can occur if you don’t adhere to the correct ratio, including over freezing!
There are many factors that affect the formation of slush.
These factors include ambient temperature, initial material temperature, sugar level, etc.
However, as long as you follow the instructions, the longest time for slush to be ready to serve varies from half-hour to one hour, so be sure to give yourself plenty of time.
Once you’ve finished serving your slush it’s time to give your machine a good clean.
Turn off your machine and drain any leftover product from the bowls before flushing water through them until it runs entirely clear. Then fill with lukewarm water and detergent and leave the solution to sit in the bowls for 15 minutes.
You should clean your slush machine this way once a week. However, there are other cleaning and maintenance tasks that should be done semi-regularly too.
Aim to lubricate your machine twice weekly. Clean your condenser on a weekly basis.
